Well, this is depressing. It seems some people were either so impatient or hate Funimation so much, that they decided to screw things up for everyone. A yet-as-unknown individual broke into Funimation’s server and downloaded what was to be the first simulcast episode of One Piece, episode 403. They then proceeded to post it online at least 24 hours before the episode was supposed to air.

Kotaku has posted details on the new PSP Go, thanks to Qore going live early. Seems that it’s gonna be a lighter, smaller PSP, but like the DSLite/DSi situation, Sony is not going to remove the previous version, the PSP-3000, from the market.
Apparently the system also has 16 GB of internal flash memory, probably for storing alot of media and/or downloadable games. Bluetooth support is also mentioned, specifically they mention the possibility of linking it with your cell phone. Perhaps it will be possible to tether your PSP to your cellphone for online play on the go? That would be kinda cool. Not to mention the possibilities of using bluetooth headsets with the PSP Go to eliminate wires.

Of course there was a character wipe before the open beta of Neo Steam. As such, I had to start over. I picked the same faction, race, and class as last time, and ran through the same beginning quests. Flipping over the rocks still takes an annoyingly long amount of time. ;) Talking with Neko about it, he agreed with me.

So, a new trailer for the Japan-only (as far as I know) PSP game 初音ミク -Project DIVA- was recently released. For those that don’t know about Hatsune Miku (初音ミク), she’s a character created for the Vocaloid 2 “Character Vocal Series.” Vocaloid is voice synthesis software used to create music vocal tracks. The “Character Vocal Series” is a series of voice packs for the Vocaloid 2 engine. These voice packs are represented by fictional characters such as Hatsune Miku.

Sure, this is about 5 months old, but it’s new to me, and amusing. n.n
Some of you may be familiar with 「電脳フィギュア ARis」 (Cyber Figure ARis), which allows you to interact in real life with a virtual character, via a webcam and special symbols on blocks and other items. This is known as “Augmented Reality” and is where the “AR” in the name “ARis” comes from, if I remember correctly. Well, an enterprising soul known as Ionized created an Augmented Reality Mirai-chan… that does the umauma Caramelldansen dance. Video after the jump.

*laughs* Wow, this is a really funny skit that was performed at Fanime this year. Apparently a group did a Zero no Tsukamia (The Familiar of Zero) skit with an English dub of the Tsurupettan song called “Tiny Flat Chest”…. wow… Just watch… Youtube video and a link to where you can download the MP3 after the jump.

So, a while back, Danny Choo posted on his site that he was looking for someone to make a flash widget to read RSS feeds in a speech bubble. I had been looking for a good project to learn some flash programming, as I had never done any before, and this seemed like it would be a fun project to try for this.
After searching around for suitable free tools for flash creation (as I have absolutely no money to buy Adobe’s flash creation tools at the moment), I found OpenLaszlo, and used it to create this flash widget. A screenshot of the widget in action is shown below.

If you’ve looked at the previous posts on my blog here, you may have noticed that they’re all from 2007, except for the recent spate of posts about Neo Steam. You may be wondering what happened to 2008?

So, today is the last day of the “Early Access” beta for Neo Steam. I finally got to the city of Nasdaim and did a few quests there.

So, I got to sit down for another day at Neo Steam.
I got up to level 11 today. I ended up running several quests from this one NPC (whose name escapes me at the moment, she wanders around near the save point person), some were more of killing specific animals, but there was one where I was harvesting some kind of plant for her.
