Introducing Mirai Feeder
So, a while back, Danny Choo posted on his site that he was looking for someone to make a flash widget to read RSS feeds in a speech bubble. I had been looking for a good project to learn some flash programming, as I had never done any before, and this seemed like it would be a fun project to try for this.
After searching around for suitable free tools for flash creation (as I have absolutely no money to buy Adobe’s flash creation tools at the moment), I found OpenLaszlo, and used it to create this flash widget. A screenshot of the widget in action is shown below.

The widget itself is quite flexible, and isn’t limited to just that one image of Mirai. In fact, just about any image can be used, though transparent PNGs or SWFs are recommended, especially when also using a custom background. If I have piqued your interest, you can find live demos and a downloadable bundle with source on the Mirai Feeder page.
