PSP Go is go

PSP GO from QoreKotaku has posted details on the new PSP Go, thanks to Qore going live early. Seems that it’s gonna be a lighter, smaller PSP, but like the DSLite/DSi situation, Sony is not going to remove the previous version, the PSP-3000, from the market.

Apparently the system also has 16 GB of internal flash memory, probably for storing alot of media and/or downloadable games. Bluetooth support is also mentioned, specifically they mention the possibility of linking it with your cell phone. Perhaps it will be possible to tether your PSP to your cellphone for online play on the go? That would be kinda cool. Not to mention the possibilities of using bluetooth headsets with the PSP Go to eliminate wires.

It seems the news has “slashdotted” GamersConsoleNetwork (Kotaku’s source for the news), as trying to follow the link off of Kotaku caused the site to return “503 Service Temporarily Unavailable,” with the error page stating that the same error came up when it tried to use an ErrorDocument to handle it. (Kotaku cites them as GameersConsoleNetwork, though the domain name is gamingconsolenetwork.com… *shrug*)
The site’s back up now, and yes, it’s Gaming, not Gamers.
As more and more games that I want come out on the PSP (especially imports), the purchase of one is more and more compelling, especially with this redesign of the system. However, as things stand now, that’ll have to wait until next summer at the earliest.

If you’d like to watch the video of Qore that discusses the PSP Go, check out the Kotaku article, as the Youtube movie has already been removed by the user.
