iDOLM@STER DS: It’s a trap!
Wow… large facepalm here. Apparently one of the “girls” in the new iDOLM@STER DearlyStars game is a trap. She’s actually a cross-dressing boy. That particular one would be the “girl” with short, brown hair, named 秋月涼 (Ryo Akizuki in western name order). Video proof in the form of a Youtube video of one of clip from the “DearlyStation” shorts podcast is after the jump.
Of course, there’s a rumor posted by GoNintento that preorders of DearlyStars shot up after Ryo was revealed to be a cross-dressing boy. Apparently alot of people in Japan like the concept of a cross-dressing androgynous boy working as an idol. ^^;;
Update: According to a forum post I found, apparently Ryo’s debuting as a girl against his will. He’d rather debut as a guy. He wants to develop a more cool instead of cute image so he’ll catch the attention of girls instead of guys. But, unfortunately, the manager of 876 productions, which his cousin Ritsuko introduced him to, insisted on him debuting as a girl. If he can prove himself as a female idol, then they’ll help him transition to being a male idol.
That logic…. kinda puzzles me… he wants to become a male idol to have a more cool and less cute image, but he’s doing that through becoming a cute female idol? O.o Yeah…. ^^;
