AGTH with ai sp@ce

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

AGTH capture of in-game dialog with repeated charactersAs some of you who play ai sp@ce may be aware, the font used for in-game dialog is horrible. All too often, kanji with many strokes become unreadable blobs.

If you’re familiar enough with the kanji to be able to read it anyway, you’re okay. However, if you’re having to look up the kanji for any reason, it’s going to be almost impossible to do so. That is why I started looking into ways I could get at the text being displayed directly. In my searching, I found AGTH.

Neo Steam Questing

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Level 23 in Neo SteamSo, I sat down to play some more Neo Steam, with the intent to get some more leveling done. One of my goals was to hit level 20 by the end of Open Beta, so that I could be entered into the drawing for a pair of Neo Steam steampunk goggles. I was at level 14 at the start of the evening, however, and didn’t anticipate reaching that goal in a single evening.

(Spoiler Warning: Some events of the Elerd story quests may be revealed in this post, so if you wish to avoid such spoilers, you may wish to not read further.)

New Wii Metroid Game

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Zero Suit SamusSo Nintendo dumped a whole bunch of movies on the Nintendo channel this week, all 12 pages are new videos… it’s going to take me a while to get through them. However, there is one video that really surprised and excited me. Enough that I think I’ve watched it at least a half-dozen times already, and will probably watch more. What has me so excited? The new Metroid game for the Wii, due in 2010, entitled Metroid: Other M.

One Piece simulcast leaked, then yanked

Luffy Crying
Well, this is depressing. It seems some people were either so impatient or hate Funimation so much, that they decided to screw things up for everyone. A yet-as-unknown individual broke into Funimation’s server and downloaded what was to be the first simulcast episode of One Piece, episode 403. They then proceeded to post it online at least 24 hours before the episode was supposed to air.

PSP Go is go

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

PSP GO from QoreKotaku has posted details on the new PSP Go, thanks to Qore going live early. Seems that it’s gonna be a lighter, smaller PSP, but like the DSLite/DSi situation, Sony is not going to remove the previous version, the PSP-3000, from the market.

Apparently the system also has 16 GB of internal flash memory, probably for storing alot of media and/or downloadable games. Bluetooth support is also mentioned, specifically they mention the possibility of linking it with your cell phone. Perhaps it will be possible to tether your PSP to your cellphone for online play on the go? That would be kinda cool. Not to mention the possibilities of using bluetooth headsets with the PSP Go to eliminate wires.

初音ミク -Project DIVA-

Friday, May 29th, 2009

thankyou by カズヤ @ Flickr

So, a new trailer for the Japan-only (as far as I know) PSP game 初音ミク -Project DIVA- was recently released. For those that don’t know about Hatsune Miku (初音ミク), she’s a character created for the Vocaloid 2 “Character Vocal Series.” Vocaloid is voice synthesis software used to create music vocal tracks. The “Character Vocal Series” is a series of voice packs for the Vocaloid 2 engine. These voice packs are represented by fictional characters such as Hatsune Miku.

Neo Steam day one

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Well, Atlus launched the “Early Access Beta” for Neo Steam today. It looks quite fun, and I enjoyed what I was able to play of it today. It’s a steampunk MMORPG, and both Neko and I are playing it. His two big reasons, as I understand it, are that it’s being published in the US by Atlus, and that it’s steampunk. I tend to agree. ^_^

Well, like I said in the last post, I knew I’d forget some things in that one. So lets see what else I remembered I needed to add…..

Weird Al does Idaho Falls

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

Tonight I attended Weird Al Yankovic’s concert here. Part of his “Straight Outta Lynwood” tour.  What can I say? It was FREAKIN’ AWESOME! ^_^ V

Of course, being a tour for his new album, you’d expect his new songs, but we still got plenty of classics, too. I don’t remember the exact order of stuff, but let’s see. I do remember hearing a bunch of stuff from Running with Scissors, including “It’s All About the Pentiums”, and “The Saga Begins”.  Of course, there were the classics, songs such as, “Eat It”, “Fat”, and “Amish Paradise”.  There was a medley where they did a verse or so of each song, and did a bunch of his old songs. Interspersed in that medly, was a new verse for “Headline News” that talked about this girl who was arrested for drunk driving, and then when she got out, she was interviewed on Larry King, and I think the last part of it was something like “why should we care about her?” or something like that.
