I’m sure many of you have seen the incredible Kumikyoku Nico Nico Douga automatic Mario video. For those who have never seen it, let me briefly explain. The idea is that by using a Super Mario World level editor, one can create a level that essentially moves Mario through it, by it self, without the player ever touching the controller. Basically, the level auto-plays, hence the term “Automatic Mario.” Well, someone decided to setup an auto-play level, such that it would make semi-musical accompaniment to music. In this case, a medley of songs popular on the Japanese video-sharing website Nico Nico Douga.
Well, the author of the original video has created another one that ups the ante a bit. Without spoiling too much, lets just say you get 4x the the Mario you did before. ;) This one isn’t a medley, but is instead only the opening theme for the Key game “Little Busters!.” Video from Youtube after the jump. Wow, what a poignant video! Truly a great work of art, and I felt I just had to share it. Found this by way of Kurofune through Google Reader.
The video has been reposted quite a few times on Youtube under the title “Romancing Your Soul”, but I believe I’ve found the original post, which calls it “Lost Generation,” and that is the one I have embedded here. It was an entry for AARP’s U@50 video contest, and placed second in that contest. (more…)
So, I was up late last night watching new anime, and happened to stumble across an episode of Haruhi. After the episode was a short trailer announcing 「涼宮ハルヒの消失」, or “The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya.” Apparently this arc will be shown in the form of a movie. It looks to be released in spring of 2010. Youtube trailer after the jump. (more…)
Wow… large facepalm here. Apparently one of the “girls” in the new iDOLM@STER DearlyStars game is a trap. She’s actually a cross-dressing boy. That particular one would be the “girl” with short, brown hair, named 秋月涼 (Ryo Akizuki in western name order). Video proof in the form of a Youtube video of one of clip from the “DearlyStation” shorts podcast is after the jump. (more…)
So, apparently there’s a new iDOLM@STER game coming out that completely flew under my radar. A game for the DS called THE iDOLM@STER DearlyStars. It features three new girls (official name romanizations given for them in western order), 日高愛 (Ai Hidaka), 水谷絵理 (Eri Mizutani), and 秋月涼 (Ryo Akizuki). It will be released on September 17th, 2009 for 6,279 Yen, and is CERO rated “C” (15 and up). Trailer from Youtube after the jump. (more…)
More awesome footage of the 1/1 scale Gundam in Odaiba. This video shows not only the side-to-side movement of the head and the steam from the chest, as we saw in my previous post about this giant Gundam, but also shows that the head can move up and down as well, and that steam comes out at the feet of the Gundam as well. Youtube video after the jump. (more…)
I found this wonderful Sailor Moon spoof video through the most recent Weekly Miku post by dannychoo.com member tenrou. It’s a very nice song, and I love the Sailor Moon-inspired animation and magical girl transformation. n.n Youtube video after the jump. (more…)
So the construction of that life-size Gundam in Odaiba finished this week. That in and of itself was awesome. What made it even more awesome is the fact that it lights up at night. Pink Tentacle has provided several beautiful photos of the lit up life-size Gundam in a blog post. An HD Youtube video of the Gundam has also popped up, showing that the Gundam not only lights up, but steams, has sound effects, and has a moving head. (It only shows a daytime view of the Gundam, however.) Hit the jump for it. (more…)
Wow, this guy is an incredible multitasker with some amazing shortcuts. He goes from waking up to fully dressed and out the door with breakfast eaten in under 5 minutes. Youtube video after the jump. (more…)
So Nintendo dumped a whole bunch of movies on the Nintendo channel this week, all 12 pages are new videos… it’s going to take me a while to get through them. However, there is one video that really surprised and excited me. Enough that I think I’ve watched it at least a half-dozen times already, and will probably watch more. What has me so excited? The new Metroid game for the Wii, due in 2010, entitled Metroid: Other M. (more…)
